This, along with the binder in the staff room, is where you can contribute ideas to the new school's design.
Click on the appropriate links and type your heart away in the comment section! (Problem? see Fred S. or email him at sd5 and he’ll post your stuff. Nice, eh?)
If you have some interesting links of your own, by all means, share them with the rest of us!
the acoustics would be amazing if we followed that design
ReplyDeleteA freight door between Key city and the music room would be nice; making travel between percussion instruments easier, or maybe a door into the Pit.
ReplyDeleteA really high stage would be nice so that scene changes from above are possible.
ReplyDeleteThe existing Key City Theater needs to come down when the old MBSS is torn down for a number of reasons such as
ReplyDelete1. The Key City Theater uses the school's mechanical and electrical power to run the theater. Thus tearing down the school will force Key City Theater to run as an independent facility which would cost great expense to the theater itself.
2. The timber truss issues that have recently become a big issue are also a problem in the theater because when the school was originally built in 1949 the theater was gym. The roof trusses were constructed of wood which at the time were up to code. In 2008 some of the diagonal trusses fractured from an abnormal amount of snow load causing the roof to come down 6 inches on one side and 2 feet on the other side. Also in the music theater when they were working on the roof a worker fell through the roof. Anyway after they repaired the roof trusses they gave them a maximum life span of 3-5 years. When the current MBSS is torn down the Key City Theater will come down with it.
The new theatre should belong to the school and not to a private owner so tat we have access at ALL times. We then could even have rehearsals on stage.
