This, along with the binder in the staff room, is where you can contribute ideas to the new school's design.
Click on the appropriate links and type your heart away in the comment section! (Problem? see Fred S. or email him at sd5 and he’ll post your stuff. Nice, eh?)
If you have some interesting links of your own, by all means, share them with the rest of us!
space, for the whole band to be able to set up depending on how large it is going to be.... roughly around 70-80 students and risers for the Choir to stand on roughly enough room for 100-120 students!!! and recording studio, silent rooms (practice rooms),
ReplyDeleteway more risers are needed, and a seperate room for music comp would be cool, so students could work on projects while there is a band class or choir
ReplyDeleteI really think that the Band Dept. should be build seperate form the main, like a key shape. And should go with our Music Teacher's idea. It should have aton of space.
ReplyDeleteBig area for concert band and choirs, like the key city thetre and lots of practice rooms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of sound proof practice rooms where people can work alone with pianos and amps and such.
ReplyDeletebuilt in choir risers, big room for band/choir practices with grand piano, seperate recording studio/ MCT room, practice rooms with real pianos, natural light, direct connection to theater, soundproof doors, better security and a loot of awesomeness
ReplyDeleteI think we should have a seperate area for the music composition class as well as practice rooms. There should be computers in the practice rooms as well so that anyone could use speakers for mixing their songs. The area for the music compostion class should be relatively close so that students could converse with each other.
ReplyDeleteA few more separate practice rooms and more separate rooms set up with music comp stations would be sweet, especially so we could come in and work while there is choir or band class.
ReplyDeletelots of practice rooms, with a few that are big enough to fit a full band of 6 (With drum set, amps, guitar holders on the walls, a computer). Practice rooms that we can record vocals and guitars via direct input.
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of having separate spaces for recording, for band, and for choir. Soundproof rooms are very important for practicing without disturbing anyone else. Space is always welcome with a choir of over one hundred students this year, it would be much better with more space. The room(s) should be acoustically amazing if not perfect, better from the old gym we are stuck in. Also more exit friendly doors are necessary to move large equipment in and out of when playing shows for different spaces outside of the school. A built on theatre would be extremely helpful so that it would be easy to get into whenever possible to practice for shows.
ReplyDeleteI think that the new music room should be spacious to have room for large bands without instruments having to scrape against each other. At least 5 large soundproof rooms should be available for use and each should be large enough for multiple instruments to play in.
ReplyDeleteLOTS of storage; for instruments, music, chairs and other assortments of music-inspired-goodies.
ReplyDeleteFreight doors for transporting performance stuffs (risers, stands, chairs, percussion, exr.)
We'd like to keep our orange doors from this school, can we salvage them?
A whole bunch of practice rooms; at LEAST 6.
One room for choir,
One for Band
One for music comp.
A giant office for Mr. B, with a star on the door,he deserves it.
in addition to a few sound-proof practice rooms, a couple good-size recording studios complete with recording/playing area and seperate control room. also, natural light should be incorporated so we know what time of day/night it is.
ReplyDeleteWindows would be a great thing to have in the Music Room. Right now, the room feels like a "Music Time Capsule" because you can never tell what time it is, except for the clock on the wall. It is a weird feeling not knowing how much time is passing in the world beyond the orange doors....
ReplyDeletewe definatly need to keep the orange doors, but we really need windows - that could help cut down the power bill
