This, along with the binder in the staff room, is where you can contribute ideas to the new school's design.
Click on the appropriate links and type your heart away in the comment section! (Problem? see Fred S. or email him at sd5 and he’ll post your stuff. Nice, eh?)
If you have some interesting links of your own, by all means, share them with the rest of us!
The Aux. Gym/Dance Studio is a great way to get the community using the building. The cubby storage works well, as does the yoga ball rack, but we could use another rack so they don't need to be carefully balanced on the top shelf!
ReplyDeleteIt is also nice to have bars in there that are actually attached to the wall. One improvement that I could suggest would be to have working air conditioning in the warmer months!
I agree with the previous post; Storage, mirrors, A/C, and bars are important.
ReplyDeleteMost definitely A/C.
A dance floor would be nice. Harlequin makes nice floors (portable ones, too) http://www.harlequinfloors.com/us/en/products/choose-a-dance-floor-guide.html
A built in sound system would be amazing. A place for dancers/cheerleaders to change would be nice, aswell.
and a "wings" area, too allow for practice with entrances/exits.
Better ballet bars would be nice and better floors.
ReplyDeleteMirrors are a necessity!!!
ReplyDeleteMore space or have two if you want to rent it out because students(cheerleaders) should be able to use their own school and not have to practice in the lunch room, students should have first chose to use the dance studio. A/C is a most the one now is sooooooo gets way to hot. lots of mirrors and storage.
ReplyDeleteLots of natural light in this area as well! Critical for students to stay healthy and focused on what they are trying to learn. A studio that could be used by drama for choreography during productions. A dance component will encourage students to become involved in Baker!
ReplyDeleteHow about a working sound system with good volume! Needs to support iPods and CDs.
