This, along with the binder in the staff room, is where you can contribute ideas to the new school's design.
Click on the appropriate links and type your heart away in the comment section! (Problem? see Fred S. or email him at sd5 and he’ll post your stuff. Nice, eh?)
If you have some interesting links of your own, by all means, share them with the rest of us!
we need one of those round-about things
ReplyDeletei've been to a few schools with them and they always worked well for dropping kids off
it would be helpful, cuz near the starting and ending of the school its like rush hour traffic with the students, school buses, teachers, and pulic transit all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteIn between the parking lot and the school. Long enough for the busses to line up and park so they don't have to keep idling. Put an island in the middle with busses down one side and cars on the other side.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we need one of those cool overpass things like they have in big cities for pedestrians to be able to cross the street without stopping traffic (for ten minutes, multiple times everyday....). If the parking and drop-off/pick-up zones are positioned strategically, that would reduce the number of students crossing at one time, but some will continue to take city buses, go to Safeway, and walk home after school and at lunch. We should try to minimize the difficulty for drivers trying to drive through the intersection at these busy times. Plus, a pedestrian overpass would just be really cool....
