I'm no teacher, but...
ReplyDeleteComfortable mountain themed lounge area with leather couches (for cleanlyness reasons) as well as tables with chairs with a full kitchen and free coffee all the time. (keep 'em happy)
Also, in a seperate room, state of the art video conferenceing area. adequate seating etc. and a door. also, make the space available for students (a door from the non-staff-only area) so if they have a friend thats far away in hospital they are free to use the room and technology to have a nice conversation.
The staff room should be functional, comfortable, stylish, well designed, and of course have large windows. A theme that's begining do develop on this blog is bringing the outdoors in. This is so cool. I'm seeing slate floors/backsplashes and modernly rustic furnishings.
How about a staff room without a classroom in it?
